Join City of Abbotsford Artist’s in Residence, Aysha McConkey, for an exciting evening centered on bats! Participate in an artist-led walk around Mill Lake where you will observe and listen to the local bat population as they emerge from their roosts. Includes the use of “bat detectors” and speakers that highlight their echolocation calls. Presented in partnership with BCBATS.
If you’re a “Bat Fan,” also be sure to check out the corresponding “Everything Bats Presentation” taking place the evening prior (June 10th) at Abbotsford Community Library.
Aysha McConkey is an artist and biologist making work focused on the natural world. Her practice incorporates biological, environmental, geographical, and ecological studies related to Abbotsford.
This event is FREE to attend and is open to all ages but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Session begins at Mill Lake Park, Emerson Picnic Shelter.
