Why Fraud Prevention Starts with Secure Electronics Recycling
Old computers, phones, and hard drives often contain personal and financial information that can be exploited if not properly destroyed. During Fraud Prevention Month, ERA works with law enforcement and community partners to give Canadians safe, free access to secure data destruction.
By attending this event, you are taking a proactive step to:
- Prevent identity theft and fraud
- Securely destroy confidential personal and business data
- Reduce electronic waste
- Support charities through ERA’s technology reuse programs
What to Expect at the Event:
Free Electronics Recycling
Bring your unwanted electronics and recycle them responsibly. ERA follows a reuse-before-recycle approach, refurbishing usable devices and donating them to charities, schools, and non-profits across Canada.
Free On-Site Hard Drive Shredding
ERA will be providing industrial on-site hard drive shredding at no cost, allowing you to securely destroy data-bearing devices and watch the process for complete peace of mind.
Bike Registration (Optional)
Attendees will also have the option to register their bicycles with Project 529 Garage, a free service that helps deter bike theft.
Accepted Electronic Items
ERA accepts a wide range of electronics in any condition, including:
- Laptops and desktop computers
- Tablets and smartphones
- Monitors and flat-screen televisions
- Printers and scanners
- Keyboards, mice, and cables
- Networking equipment such as routers, modems, and switches
- Servers and server racks
- External hard drives and USB devices
- Projectors and digital cameras
- Gaming consoles and accessories
All collected items are securely wiped, refurbished when possible, or responsibly recycled according to strict data security and environmental standards.
Protect Your Data. Reduce E-Waste. Support Your Community.
This free event is a simple way to protect yourself from fraud, safeguard your personal information, and contribute to a more sustainable future—while supporting local charities and community safety initiatives.

Event Details
The South Asian Studies Institute (SASI) invites you to Trinjan Mela: A Celebration of South Asian Women, for an afternoon honoring the voices, creativity and resilience of South Asian women through folk music, poetry, dance and storytelling.
The stage will come alive with melodies of traditional folk songs, the grace of folk dances like bhangra, the raw emotion of poetry and the warmth of stories passed down through generations. You will hear voices that echo the fields of Punjab, the streets of urban India, the rhythms of the diaspora and the quiet strength of women who have carved space for themselves in both tradition and modernity.
This event is free to attend. Seating is limited, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Light refreshments will be provided. Whether you are reconnecting with your own heritage or discovering these traditions for the first time, there is a place for you here.

A male stripper parody and improv comedy show. The award winning improv comedians are back with a new show, more moves and even quicker wits
A SHOW FOR ALL GENDERS… 19 ONLY
WARNING! No extreme nudity, just extreme hilarity.
A fictitious male stripper troupe (played by a cast of some of Canada’s best improvisational comedians) performs a sexylarious improv comedy show. They try to be sexy… it just comes out funny. Constantly grooving and gyrating in between scenes they banter with the crowd and perform their hilarious twist on improv sketches. They sing, they “dance”, and they are ready to make you laugh.
Semi undressed and completely unscripted, The Comic Strippers take off their shirts and take on your suggestions to create a whole new genre of comedy.
‘BEST LIVE PRODUCTION’ Canadian Comedy Award Winner
★★★★★ “Extremely Funny!” – UK Fringe Review
“The show is suitable for both men and women. An entertaining ride where anything goes.” – Rip It Up Magazine

5-Day Silverbrook Nature Camp
Monday–Friday | 3-Hour & 6-Hour Options Available
A full week of outdoor adventure, hands-on learning, and unforgettable farm experiences.
Silverbrook Nature Camp is our most immersive camp experience, designed to help kids slow down, get outside, and truly connect with nature. Over five days, campers explore the farm, ponds and nature while learning essential outdoor skills, animal care, fishing basics, and sustainable awareness.
Each day introduces new activities—from building shelters and learning fire safety, to exploring ecosystems, caring for farm animals, fishing, and discovering how a working farm operates. Our goal is to build confidence, curiosity, independence, and a genuine love for the outdoors.
This camp is perfect for kids who love being outside, getting their hands dirty, and learning by doing.

Event Details
Join us in Abbotsford, British Columbia for a focused two-hour, in-person Introduction to Sourdough Bread Workshop with Lou Meggiato of Wild Bluebell Homestead – serving Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley with traditional sourdough education and small-group baking instruction.
This structured, hands-on class is designed for beginners and home bakers who want clear, practical guidance on baking real sourdough bread. Over the course of two hours, participants will learn how to properly care for a starter, understand natural fermentation, and understand how to begin mixing and developing dough with confidence.
What you will learn:
• How a sourdough starter functions and how to maintain it properly
• Core fermentation principles and dough development fundamentals
• How to mix dough correctly and recognize early fermentation cues
• What to expect during bulk fermentation and proofing
• How to confidently complete your first loaf at home
What is included:
• A mason jar with a live, active organic sourdough starter to take home
• Guided in-class feeding instruction and starter management tips
• Lou’s comprehensive sourdough starter guide (English, with French available)
• Her trusted everyday sourdough bread recipe
• Access to a full step-by-step baking guide and video tutorial
During the workshop, you will demonstrate early-stage dough development and explain key fermentation indicators so participants understand exactly what to look for once they are home. Because a complete sourdough bake extends beyond the two-hour session, everyone leaves with the instruction and resources required to successfully finish their first loaf independently.
A curated selection of sourdough baking tools will also be available for purchase, including reusable bannetons, sourdough scoring lames, bench dough scrapers, bowl covers, jar covers, bread mats, bread bags, and reversible kitchen-utility aprons.
This Abbotsford sourdough workshop is ideal for Fraser Valley residents seeking hands-on, traditional bread baking instruction in a supportive environment.

Suzie LeBlanc, Soprano
Alexander Weimann, Harpsichord
Chloe Meyers, Violin
Grégoire Jeay, Traverso & Percussion
Four of Canada’s finest musicians in Baroque music will be here to present a program of music by Purcell and Bach as well as traditional tunes. Transverse flute player Grégoire Jeay comes from Montreal to join three Vancouver-based musicians. Suzie LeBlanc is the artistic and executive director of highly-regarded Early Music Vancouver. Alexander Weimann is the artistic director of the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, and his wife Chloe Meyers is concertmaster of the PBO.
Acadian soprano Suzie LeBlanc has been recognized with the Order of Canada and four honorary doctorates for her contributions in the area of Baroque music. Her seventy recordings include a Grammy Award and a CINI Award (Italy). She has toured on five continents and was invited to sing for the president of Czechoslovakia, Vaclav Havel.
While he is much in demand as a harpsichordist, Alexander Weimann is also highly esteemed as a conductor of Baroque orchestras having led such groups as Les Voix Baroques, Tempo Rubato, and the Portland Baroque Orchestra. His recording with soprano Karina Gauvin and the Arion Ensemble won a Juno Award in 2013. He is noted for his skills at improvisation on the organ and harpsichord.
Chloe Meyers enjoys a busy career as either concertmaster or soloist with groups like Arion Baroque Orchestra, Victoria Baroque, and Ensemble Les Boréades, among others. She teaches young artists in the Baroque Orchestra Mentorship Program at UBC. Meyers performed double concerti by Vivaldi together with Italian star Enrico Onofri and the PBO in our series in 2018.
While his specialty is the Baroque flute, Grégoire Jeay also plays the recorder and various international flute styles. He has performed with such distinguished groups as Tafelmusik and Ensemble Caprice. Jeay is also a composer of note. Tafelmusik commissioned him to write a triple concerto for flute, violin, harpsichord, and orchestra.
Suzie and her colleagues have prepared a program entitled: Wish You Were Here – Love, Longing, and Travel.
Four simple words—wish you were here—have echoed across centuries, scribbled on postcards, tucked into letters, and held quietly in the hearts of those far from home. Whether written from afar or in moments of longing, they reflect our human desire for connection.
From the expressive music of John Dowland and Henry Purcell to Acadian folk songs and echoes of Pink Floyd, join us for an evening of music and words exploring themes of love, distance, and the ties that bring us together.

This concert brings together one of Canada’s finest young duos and a highly respected veteran of many years on the concert stage. The brother and sister team of Byran and Silvie Cheng performed in our series in 2019. Since then, they have gone on to become established stars both individually and as a duo.
Bryan is currently based in Germany. He has won prizes at numerous competitions and was the first cellist to be awarded the Prix Yves Paternot in the recognition of the Verbier Festival Academy’s most promising and accomplished musician. He received a two-year appointment as Artist-in-Residence at the Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra in Timosoara, Romania.
Silvie is based in New York where she is a teaching-artist at the Manhattan School of Music. She has performed both as a solo and a collaborative artist on five continents. Silvie works closely with living composers and has played in over fifty world premieres since 2010. She received the Roy M. Rubinstein Award for “exceptional promise in piano performance” upon her graduation from the Manhattan School of Music.
Recognized as “Canada’s pre-eminent clarinetist”, James Campbell counts a Juno Award, the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, and the Order of Canada among his many honours. He has been involved in five television specials, more than forty recordings, and over thirty commissioned works. He has been Artistic Director of the Festival of the Sound in Ontario since 1985. He has been Professor of Music at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University since 1988.
