Cellist Jonathan Swenson and Pianist Juho Pojonen

A Danish-American cellist and Finnish pianist will collaborate to bring a varied program of small and great masterpieces for cello and piano. The concert will include intensely emotional works by Lutoslawski and Pärt alongside two well-known gems by Gabriel Fauré. The major works on the program will be sonatas by Poulenc and Chopin.

A rising star of the cello, Jonathan Swensen has won numerous competitions including the Naumburg, Windsor, and Khachaturian string competitions. He has performed as a soloist with orchestras in Europe and America. His debut recording Fantasia is an album of works for solo cello. Swensen is an Artist in Residence at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium.
